The Eggspectation concept was founded in 1993 by Jimmy Skindilias and Enzo Renda when they opened their first restaurant in an affluent commercial and residential area of Montreal, Canada. Since then Eggspectation restaurants have become synonymous with innovation, high quality food, excellent service, and a unique and exciting dining experience. With nine restaurants in Toronto and Quebec and two in India it became time in 2002 to cross the border into the U.S. One of the principals of Hinkle-Albert Enterprises, Inc – our first U.S. Area Developer — visited a Montreal location and was so impressed that he purchased a licensing agreement to open Eggspectation restaurants in the Mid Atlantic. Their first location was in Ellicott City, Maryland, then Silver Spring, Maryland and most recently in Chantilly, Virginia. Hinkle-Albert plans to open between 20 and 30 restaurants in their area. Additionally, there is an Eggspectation restaurant in South Portland Maine which opened in 2003 under a license agreement with a second licensee.
In 2004 we formed Eggspectation Restaurants, LLC to own, operate and franchise the Eggspectation concept in the U.S. and worldwide, excluding Canada and India.
Plans are now underway to begin a very aggressive company unit expansion in the Northeast and to franchise units across the country through area development agreements with highly-qualified, experienced operators. We aim to open a total of 70 Eggspectations across the USA within five years; 200 within 10 years.
